Fishfarming / Aquaculture

Aquaculture is in a state of constant development, with net-pens becoming bigger and deeper. As the water temperature rises the net-pens become fouled. Both moorings and the seabed need to be checked and visually inspected and by means of sediment tests.

In collaboration with ROV users, Sperre has developed a method of washing net-pens using net-cleaning systems.

Net-pens are now as much as 120, 160 or even 200 metres in diameter and may be 60 metres deep. It is impossible to bring them up for cleaning, but they need to be cleaned by divers or by means of net-cleaning systems that must be dragged up and down.

Through our ROV net-washing project we have arrived at a solution whereby ROVs can be interfaced with all types of net-cleaner. ROVs work efficiently 24 hours a day without decompression and breaks
.
This is an economical and safe way of cleaning net-pens, and several users have already bought our system nº 2  -  the future for net-pen inspection and maintenance.

We also supply a wide range of cameras and underwater lighting.
