The leading Russian subsea company ASK
Subsea has carried out a large-scale survey of the seabed in the
eastern part of the Black Sea as part of a project for an “Olympics
pipeline”.
The project concerns laying a new oil
pipeline to the city of Sochi, which is to host the 2014 Winter
Olympics. The plans call for a 174 km-long pipeline that will pass
through three Russian regions.
ASK Subsea used a Sperre SUB-Fighter 30
K and a Sperre Sperre SUB-Fighter 7500 to analyse seabed conditions
and carry out a geomagnetic survey. In a press release issued after
the completion of the survey, ASK Subsea states that the
equipment from Sperre AS worked extremely well, describing the SUB
Fighters as efficient and “of very high quality”.
“The equipment was very suitable for
our data acquisition and analysis purposes,” says the press release
from ASK Subsea.
